Privacy policy

Your screenshots stay on your Mac.

TinkerShot has no network access, no account and no analytics. This page explains what the app touches on your Mac, and what this website does.

Effective date:

The short version

TinkerShot is made by Tinker Dev Pte. Ltd. (“we”). This policy covers the TinkerShot Mac app and tinkershot.com.

TinkerShot is a sandboxed Mac app with no network access: macOS gives it no permission to connect to the internet. It does not upload screenshots and does not collect usage data. There is no account, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party code in the app. We do not sell or share your data.

What the app accesses, and why

Screen Recording. macOS requires this permission to capture the screen. TinkerShot captures only when you start a capture, and keeps the image in memory while you edit it. Pasting, opening and dropping images work without this permission.

Clipboard. TinkerShot reads the clipboard only when you paste, and writes to it only when you copy. It does not watch the clipboard.

Files. TinkerShot opens the images you choose and saves images where you tell it to. The default save folder is ~/Pictures/TinkerShot; Save As… lets you pick another place.

What stays on your Mac

Saved images stay where you saved them. The app’s preferences hold your style presets, whether to show the Welcome window again, and whether Screen Recording permission has been requested. This version keeps no capture history.

To delete saved images, delete them from ~/Pictures/TinkerShot or wherever you saved them. To delete presets and preferences, quit TinkerShot and delete the folder ~/Library/Containers/com.tinkershot.TinkerShot. That resets the app; it does not touch images you saved elsewhere. Support can help if you are unsure what to delete.

Purchases and diagnostics

The Lifetime Unlock is bought and restored through Apple’s App Store. TinkerShot only learns, on your Mac, whether the unlock is owned. We receive no name, email address or payment details from your purchase.

TinkerShot writes status messages to the macOS system log on your Mac. The app does not send them anywhere. If you chose in macOS settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may share crash reports with us through App Store Connect. You can change that choice in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

This website

tinkershot.com uses no cookies, no tracking pixels, no third-party fonts and no embedded third-party content. Images are served from this site.

We don’t run analytics scripts. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes IP addresses and request details in its logs to deliver and protect it, and shows us aggregate counts such as requests per day and visitor countries. This is separate from the Mac app, which makes no network connections. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send. We use it only to reply. Please don’t include private screenshots, passwords or payment details.

Children

The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children. If you think a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Contact and changes

For privacy questions or requests about information you have sent us, email support@tinkerdev.io.

If the app’s data handling changes, we will update this policy before that version ships and change the effective date above. A future capture-history feature, for example, would be described here first.

Changes: 16 October 2026: first version.
